Insurance Coverage

Recently insurance companies have started to decrease coverage for compounded medications. It is often under the guise of decreasing costs. In essence they are correct, the insurance is paying out less money. What is happening though is a cost shift back to the patient. We do not bill insurances, but we are happy to provide a form for you to send to your insurance company. Keep in mind that most often compounded medications and pharmacists’ consultation services are not covered by insurance. Medicare Part D does not cover compounded medications made from bulk chemicals so coverage by Part D plans is rare, but we still will be happy to provide the insurance form. Many times the price of compounded medications are not more expensive than the co- pay set by your insurance company. We will gladly work with you to provide longer supplies when possible as that can provide significant savings. We do accept HSA/HFA funds to help cover consult fees, lab tests, precision testing, supplements, etc., but please check with your carrier for services covered from your insurance plan.
